Ground Match Method

Are you part of the 77%?

In analysis* of runners at a local 5K parkrun, 77% of people don’t know how to move their legs properly – even a few of the quicker ones. It’s a fundamental running form issue. They move their legs as if they were walking, but faster. Most of them have no idea anything’s amiss because they progress for a while, but then reach a performance plateau and wonder why.

Guidance on fixing it is vague, misses the fundamental issue and is often wrong.

However, everyone understands the results: Poor running form and soreness.

Poor running form that feels like shuffling along. Wondering why you aren’t getting any faster even though you are putting in the work. Other people that started at the same time seem to glide along effortlessly.

Sore knees. Sore hips. A thud on the ground with every step, even in big, bouncy running shoes. Not as enjoyable as you thought running should be.

With Ground Match Method, you’ll learn how to change from a running form that feels like a struggle, to an optimal running form that feels more fun whilst genuinely being more efficient for runners. It comes down to one thing: what your foot is already doing before it meets the ground.

For clarity: Ground Match Method does not focus on cadence (although it may result in changes to cadence), nor landing under your hips (not actually possible while moving forward), nor heel striking (although your foot strike might change a bit), nor ground contact time. These are common but misleading or plain wrong explanations that you’ll find elsewhere.

Based on years of experience teaching people to improve their running form, the method is straightforward to learn and simple to perform.

You’ll not only learn HOW to use Ground Match Method in your runs, but you’ll also learn WHY you are doing it.
